STAYING IN MARSEILLE
The city grew up along the shores of the historical vieux Port and also La Canebiere,
which is the road that separates the North and South of Marseille. There is great value
in accommodation in this city and especially if you are only staying for a weekend
trip.
The Vieux Port is probably the best place to stay if you want to explore the town and
relish the hectic nightlife. There is also a great choice of luxury accommodation with
lovely views of the sea.
Out in the suburbs one can stay in hotels at bargain prices due to the lack of
attractions to interest tourists. And one can do well for oneself if the room comes with
a beautiful view of the Mediterranean.
